Content Marketing: Komera

At Komera, I had the opportunity to elevate the voices of young leaders in Rwanda and strengthen a brand rooted in education, health, and community. Through content marketing and digital strategy, I helped tell the story of Komera scholars—bright, resilient girls pursuing secondary education and leadership training to create change in their communities.

Setup & context

As the Development & Communications Associate, I was brought on to lead digital content and storytelling efforts that would engage supporters, amplify Komera’s impact, and grow its global community. My work spanned social media, email marketing, blogging, and major communications assets like the annual report.

The challenge & problem PROCESS

Komera needed to develop its storytelling across platforms while showcasing the personal and systemic impact of its programs. I created and executed a weekly social media schedule that featured voices from across the organization, from scholars and mentors to parents and staff. I also directed blog content, managed Komera’s website, and produced branded campaigns for donor outreach and events. Working closely with program staff and external vendors, I synthesized field data into compelling narratives and led content development from concept to completion.

impact & results

By refining Komera’s content strategy and voice, I increased consistency and clarity across channels. I created digital campaigns that deepened audience engagement and contributed to donor retention. My efforts included directing and editing video stories, managing a social media intern, and producing the annual report and other cornerstone materials. These integrated communications helped reinforce Komera’s reputation as a thought leader in girls’ education, health, and community development in Rwanda.
